Beautifully turned Pastry Tamper created from native woods
Artistic Wood Pieces, Kitchen Items
Description
Have you done a lot of baking over the past year? Like you, I’ve done a lot. I make over 300 little nut pies for Christmas and this Pastry Tamper makes things so much quicker and easier. Even if you only want to make a single tray of little pastries or pies, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is with one of these tampers. My husband made one of these for me and I love it. In particular, I love the shape and feel as well as the beautiful colour and grain of the wood. And it’s a pleasure to use.
How to Use a Pastry Tamper
Put a ball of soft pastry or biscuit dough in the bottom of a muffin tin, press down and, voila! Instantly, you have an even thickness pastry shell and no sticky fingers! One end fits into mini muffin tins and the other into the standard-sized ones.
Makes a Beautiful Gift:
Buy one for yourself or give one as a beautiful and thoughtful gift for someone you love. These tampers have been flying out the door to all parts of New Zealand. Along with the orders, the positive feedback has been so gratifying: one lady said she loves looking at it like a piece of art and others say that they love the silky smooth feel.
Made From Recycled Wood:
My husband has turned these elegant, handmade, one-of-a-kind pastry tampers from recycled or ethically sourced native timbers such as Rimu, Kauri, Totara, and Puriri.
They are silky smooth which is important for your hands and to ensure that the pastry doesn’t stick to the tamper. Naturally, we finish them with a food-safe, beeswax polish that we make ourselves from wax from our own hives. The polish nourishes and protects the wood and enhances the grain and colour of the wood.
